David established Equity Concepts North, LLC (“ECN”) in 2001 to work in concert Equity Concepts, its sister company in Richmond, Virginia. Today this combination provides his clients with the power and intellect of 17 advisors with expertise in law, accounting, economics and business management. The combined companies bring this talent together in a committee that actively finds and vets unique investment tools that fit the needs of his clients.
David earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Dickinson School of Law. He received specialized training in mediation from the Straus Institute of Pepperdine University School of Law. David currently holds the following Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses: Series 7 and 66, as well as those required by the insurance industry and is licensed in 8 states. He also has earned and holds the designation as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. David serves the financial industry as a FINRA Arbitrator and Mediator since 2010. David uses the composite of his various skill sets to assist client not only with their investment goals but also with the complex issues of business succession and estate planning areas.
Prior to devoting his full talents to Equity Concept North, David was the Managing Partner of Jubelirer, Carothers, Krier & Halpern, a well-respected law firm in Central Pennsylvania. He is now “Of Counsel” with the Firm and continues to utilize his legal skills to assist clients with estate planning and business issues, including succession planning. During his legal career he served the Pennsylvania Bar Association as the Chair of Attorney Disciplinary Study Committee and as Chair of the Alternate Dispute Resolution program for attorneys. He was appointed by the Justices of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to serve in various roles with the Supreme Court Disciplinary Board, ultimately sitting as its Chairman.
David is a sought-after teacher, speaker and writer. He has held teaching positions at Penn State and as an Adjunct Professor at St. Francis University and now sits as a member of the President’s Cabinet. He has been a speaker at many locations in the Altoona area such as Mercy Hospital and the Blair County Courts. He has published an article on the use of life insurance as a divorce tool and ran an educational section at the Financial Services Institute 2015 National Meeting. David has been recognized on the National Registry of Who’s Who as a Life Member and the International Who’s Who of Professions.
David and his wife, Sandra, live in Duncansville, Pennsylvania with their dogs, Jefferson and Abigail. They enjoy spending time with family. David, an avid golfer, and Sandra, a professional photographer, love to travel to warm spots and explore new places.
