Shannon is passionate about helping people articulate their life goals and develop a plan for attaining them, particularly in times of transition. She especially enjoys making the journey with the client to implement a plan specific to their needs. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Shannon brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, providing advice and counsel to individuals, families, corporate executives and businesses. Before joining Equity Concepts in 2014, she was the executive vice president of Private Wealth Management for the mid-Atlantic division of SunTrust Banks.

Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and received her Master of Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Shannon currently holds the following Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses: Series 7, 24, 63 and 66 and is licensed in six states.

Shannon has served on the boards and board committees of multiple nonprofit organizations over the years and is the immediate past board chair for Northstar Academy, a K-12 school for students with learning challenges, in Richmond, Virginia.

Shannon and her husband, Hank, live in Richmond and are fortunate that their two adult daughters live nearby in Washington, D.C. Shannon enjoys golfing, walking her dog, attending University of Virginia sporting events and traveling in her spare time.
